Program: Canyons of Terskey Ala-Too
(Altyn-Arashan - Karakol - Dzety-Oguz).The region around the Issyk-Kul Lake is the most popular territory of Kyrgyzstan. Beautiful mountainous lake Issyk-Kul (1609m above sea level, length 220km, width 60km) - “blue pearl” brings fame to Kyrgyzstan and these sights satisfy requirement of the most exacting tourists. Our trip goes along the Terskey Ala-Too range that is situated at the south shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. This is tour for people who are not interested in easy rest who would like to see hidden places that you would never see if you travel by car.
Day 1. Arrive to Bishkek. Accommodation in hotel. Excursion around the city.
Day 2. Transfer (400km) to Karakol town. Accommodation in hotel. Excursion around the city, visiting Dungan mosque of 1910 and Russian Orthodox Church.
Day 3. Transfer to Kashka-Suu gorge where trekking begins. First part of hiking goes along the fir trees forest then path lies along alpine meadows. In 4-5 hours of walking we get foot of Chon-Kol-Dzar pass, having lunch there. Ascent to the pass along not steep grassy slope about 1-1,5 hours and descent also along grassy slope around 30-50 minutes. Then on the path to Altyn-Arashan River and further on earth road to the camp place. There are no any difficulties during all the day.
Day 4. Easy hiking to Keldyke pass. Path goes along the gorge and then up grassy slope to the pass. Night in tent camp at the foot of the pass.
Day 5. Ascent to the pass along screes slope. From the top of the pass you will see beautiful Ala-Kul lake (3600 m above sea level its length 2,3 km width 600-700m). Descent along rocky path to the waterfall and then along dry gorge to Karakol gorge. Night in tent camp.
Day 6. Hiking to the upper reaches of Karakol gorge to Karakol peak. Path goes along forest and then along wide valleys of Karakol River. We will see memorial stone devoted to mountaineers died in these mountains. Night in tent camp.
Day 7. Ascent to Telety pass, this is easy hiking. First path goes along earth road to the confluence of Telety and Karakol rivers and then ascent along the river to the camp place that is situated in 1km from the pass.
Day 8. Hiking to Dzety-Oguz gorge over Telety pass. Ascent to the pass is along screes slope, decent first along screes slope, then along grassy slope and in the end along fir tree forest to the confluence of Telety and Dzety-Oguz rivers. Descent is quiet long and tiring. Night in tent camp.
Day 9. Hiking to the upper reaches of Dzety-Ogyz gorge. There is wonderful view to Oguz-Bashy peak (5168m).
Day 10. Transfer to Tamga village. Accommodation in guesthouse. Lunch and after lunch excursion to Fair place. Rest.
Day 11. Excursion to Barskaun gorge. Hiking to Barskaun waterfall. Return to guesthouse.
Day 12. Day of rest in guesthouse.
Day 13. Transfer to Boom gorge (185km). Night in tent camp at the Naryn Bridge.
Day 14. Rafting along Chu river (40km) about 5 hours. Night in tent camp.
Day 15. Transfer to Bishkek. Return home.
