The contrasts of Kyrgyzstan’s nature - location in the center of the continent, in the distance from oceans and seas, in surroundings vast deserts; differently oriented ranges - all that make for riches and variety herbage. For the small square of country Kyrgyzstan (199,9 thousand sq. km) is typical high floristic reaches of plants: there are 3786 sorts of higher plants and 3464 sorts of lower plants. Half of all plants of Central Asian are here in Kyrgyzstan - there are 70% of number genus and 90% families. The Republic’s mountain relief covers almost all types of landscape: semi-desert, steppe, meadow-steppe, sud-alpine, alpine, tundra and glacial.
Flora of Kyrgyzstan contains more than 4000 sorts of plants. There are more than 200 sorts of an uncommon sorts of plants.
We offer you alpine-botanical tour: “Bishkek - Chuj valley (700-2000m above sea level) - Issyk-Kul area (1600 -1700 m) - Sary-Dzhaz valley (2700-3600m) - Arabel syrts (valley of high mountain lakes, 3600-4000m above sea level) - Son-Kul lake (3100m above sea level). This tour includes all types of landscape of Kyrgyzstan.
Also we offer you the most interesting area for botanists - area of west Tien-Shan system, there are 38 an uncommon plants there; Chatkal range, which significant area is blanketed by forests (the nut forests of Chatkal, Fergana and Turkestan ranges are the largest in the world); area of Sary-Chelek lake (1878m above sea level, length 7,5km, width 2,3km); Susamyr valley and basin of Chichkan river.
Animal life in the Republic is rich and diverse: there are more than 83 species of mammals, over 368 species of birds, about 75 species of fish and around 37 species of reptiles and amphibians.
368 species of birds are presented of 20 orders, 259 species of all birds have permanent nesting in Kyrgyzstan, 32 species of birds are rare and vanishing. Moreover the Republic of Kyrgyzstan is situated on the way of of birds’ seasonal migration and many species of them come to a stop here for replenishing energy resources and a lot of them spend a winter there. You can watch winter birds on Issyk-Kul lake and established there biosphere reservation, there are 50-100 thousand various birds about 120-140 species there. A lot of birds of prey have permanent nesting in mountains of Kyrgyzstan too.

Kyrgyzstan is rich not only with its natural beauty, but also with its natural resources. Fast mountain pastures occupy half of the Republic’s territory and the nut forest of the Chatkal, Fergana and Turkestan ranges are the largest in the world.
Nature of Kyrgyzstan is lavished with valuable minerals. There are more than 60 elements of the periodic system of elements of table Mendeleev in Kyrgyzstan. There are not only deposits of scarce elements in Kyrgyzstan but also oil, gas, peat and coal of all grades. The Republic is also rich in non-ore mineral deposits: limestone, marble, granite, gypsum, clay and sandy-gravel materials.
We offer you geological program. Student’s practicum “Geology of Tien-Shan”. This tour includes the Northern and the Southern parts of Kyrgyzstan. Practical fieldwork is intended for students of Universities, Colleges, etc., who have got common theoretical background in geology.
During this geological practical work, participants can learn geological structure of Tien-Shan region in the Middle Asia (stratigraphy, magmatism, metamorphics and tectonics, history of geological evolution in region, mineralogy, geomorphology), they will see and learn methods of field geology and geological cartography, prospecting and mining of minerals, also they will learn engineering-geological processes in mountain, karst processing.
During all travel our specialists of geology will accompany participants and give them consultations. We will prepare for travel an educational materials, it’s geographical maps of travel’s regions, geological maps and lectures.
